Really wild side of Miami

Miami has a variety of attractions for tourists that revolve around the animal life and birds. This including the Miami Seaquarium, Parrot Jungle Island, Monkey Jungle and the Miami Zoo. But even more interesting are truly wild animals and birds that can be seen in southern Florida. The Intracoastal Waterway and other channels along the highways and roads over many lakes in residential areas and on the road to attract birds especially waterfowl. For the best experience, South Florida, on the outskirts of Miami, has numerous parks where nature can really be considered.

In the area of Palm Beach Grassy Waters Preserve ago, in June Marinelife Beach Hungryland Boardwalk and Trail, John D. MacArthur Beach State Park, Okeeheelee Nature Center Park. In the area of Boca Raton, Gumbo Limbo ago and Fern Forest Nature Center Nature Center.

In Hollywood, there is Anne Kolb Nature Center at Lake Park West. Broward County has Tree Tops Park, while Greynolds Park is located in Miami Beach. Two parks are easily accessible for people in the area south of Miami are Biscayne National Park and Everglades National Park.

Biscayne National Park is located at 9700 SW 328th St., Homestead. Eighty-five percent of this marine park is under water and features colorful coral reefs and undeveloped keys in Biscayne Bay. Most keys are covered by mangroves and tropical hardwood hammocks. The park has a walkway along the waterfront which is lined with mangroves. It is a good place to see different species that associate with water, including ring-billed gulls, cormorants, ruddy turnstone, woodpeckers and grackles. Fishing is allowed ports designated areas in the park more kayak and canoe rental are available. The park is open 7:00 to 5:30 p.m. every day and entry the park is free.

Near Biscayne Biscayne Park Pier, which has an entrance fee of $ 5. At the pier there is a small beach for swimming lifeguard break rooms, and a snack bar. For an afternoon or morning more active, salt water fishing is allowed between the mangroves and along the promenade. For ornithologists, sapsuckers, osprey, grebes and cormorants can be seen.

For Biscayne National Park to South Florida's Turnpike to Exit 6 (Speedway Boulevard), turn left off ramp and continuing south to Southwest 328th Street (North Canal Drive). Turn left and continue to the end of the road. The entrance is about five miles on the left.

Everglades National Park covers more than 1.4 million acres with a diverse habitat ranging from marine and estuarine areas of Florida Bay to pine forests, hardwood hammocks, and vast marshes and swamps Freshwater Sawgrass. The park offers the opportunity for a wide range of activities including, beach combing, bird watching, camping, diving, fishing, hiking, photography, Ranger-led activities, diving, swimming and wildlife observation.

There are three campgrounds within Park, Long Pine Key, Flamingo, and Chekika and all campgrounds are open all year. Canoes can be rented at Flamingo and Gulf Coast. Cycling is permitted on the main roads of the park on Highway Shark Valley tram, on the Old Ingraham Highway, on Long Pine Key Nature Trail, and Bay and Snake Rowdy Bend trails at Flamingo. The shelters are located at the main entrance (to the west of Homestead), Royal Palm, Flamingo, Shark Valley and Gulf Coast (south of Everglades City).

It is however in the field of wildlife viewing as the Everglades National Park surprise really. More than 300 species of birds have been recorded, seven of which are rare or endangered. Migratory birds use to Everglades National Park both as a critic and as wintering stopover. Species include the Cape May warbler, the peregrine falcon, bobolink, and tree swallows. Waders you may experience during a visit includes the great white heron, great blue heron, Great egret, snowy egret, tricolored heron, little blue heron, heron Guard beef, reddish egret, black-crowned night heron, yellow-crowned night heron, least bittern, glossy ibis, Roseate Spoonbill and very colorful. Some birds of prey of the Everglades include red-shouldered hawk and barred owl. Along the mangrove island areas of Everglades National Park, you may to see an osprey dive into the water to catch a fish. About fifty pair of bald eagles, which also feed on fish, nest in the park. Anhinga Trail over Taylor Slough at Royal Palm is a good place to watch nesting darters in the spring, and the display of the year of herons, egrets, cormorants and white ibis. Eco Pond near Flamingo is a good place to observe herons, white ibises, roseate spoonbills, white-eyed vireo, Red-shouldered Hawk and many species butterflies. From the Flamingo visitor center, you can see white pelicans, gulls, terns, shorebirds, white herons, reddish egrets and other birds along the fringe of the bay.

More than forty species of mammals are found in Everglades National Park. It is not uncommon to see deer wading in the meadow Sawgrass. The marsh rabbit is common in freshwater marshes higher pine forests and coastal prairies. Raccoons and opossums are common creatures in the park. The gray fox is most often seen near hardwood hammocks. River otters are frequently seen spring at the Anhinga Trail and Shark Valley. The Florida panther is a subspecies of mountain lion is in the park, but elusive so rarely seen. The bobcat, unlike the Florida panther endangered, is common in the Everglades National Park. Although primarily nocturnal, feline small (15-25 lbs) short tail is often seen during the day. It can be seen at the foot of the Bear Lake Trail, Snake Bight Trail, and main park road.

The West Indian manatee is a marine mammal that grows to 1,000 pounds and roams the coastal waters of the United States of Louisiana to Virginia. In winter, they seek the warm waters of Florida Bay, where they are often seen by visitors. They can be frequently observed in Whitewater Bay, Hells Bay and along the west coast. Alligators are common to all the fresh water marshes of the park, and sometimes enter brackish waters of Florida Bay. The best time to see alligators in the park during the winter dry season. At that time, they gather around the water holes deeper. All sizes and ages, from babies to ten inches during a twenty-year-old adults in ten feet long, can be seen lounging on the shore along the Anhinga Trail.

To arrive at Everglades National Park to Florida's Turnpike south to its end in Florida City. Turn right Street on the south-west 344th (Palm Drive), follow signs on the highways of Florida 9336 Everglades National Park.
