How can you use an array of size swimwear?

I need to buy a swimsuit, and I'll do it online because I am "over size" and there is a greater variety of combinations although I can find online than in my store. However, I do not understand size arrays. The top row is swimming suit sizes. I guess you have to choose those who are closest to what your actual measurements are … If thats the case, it is preferable to choose a size slightly less than your measurements, or a little bigger?

Use one that is perhaps a smaller size becuz stretch swimwear
