You will have no problems with Carnival. There are people of all sizes and ages on their ships. This is what makes them so fun. You can do as little or as much as you want on the cruise. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how you fit in. The more often one or two nights in the formal dining room, you want to dress nicer, if not, just no shorts or jeans. If you want to dress more relaxed, they also have the buffet which is open all the time. Bring the type of clothes that make you feel at ease, and you have a great time.
