issue dress for my office Christmas party?

My office has a cocktail / party to end a meal in a luxury hotel every year and general conduct is between formal dresses sexy cocktail dresses and short. I gained a few pounds since last year and I am self-concious the size of my arm. I wear a sundress or dress spaghetti strap, but I want to dress to flatter me, not to draw attention to my gain weight. I was looking for a long sleeve or short sleeve dress appropriately, but I'm also afraid to look matronly. (I only 23). Any ideas on a type of dress to flatter my figure without looking at the smaller size?
