Plus size my bottom?
I am 5ft 6″ and until recently I was quite slim weighing only 140lbs (10st 6) and wearing a UK size 12. Last year I decided to give up worrying about my weight so much now I’m 30 and so as a result put on 35lbs (whoops) taking me to 175lbs (12st 7) and a UK size 16 top and 18 bottom.
I read the other day that a UK size 14 is a plus size!!! And that Evans (and other plus size stores) start at a size 14. I even tried on some size 18 evans jeans and I could barely get them on. I know I’ve gained weight but I think calling me a plus size is ridiculous compared to some of the big people I see everyday! Also seeing as size 16 is the UK average and I’m 2″ taller than average height I think there’s something fundamentally wrong with our definition of plus size.
