Does there come a point in one’s knitting carreer where they can look at something and knit it?

I know ppl that can’t, but why knit for years if I can’t knit what I see in the magazines?

i agree with others. i know my grandmother can. she knows about every stitch pattern. i have seen her knit patterns that i have never ever found on line either. it all depends on experience and practice. she had knit everything and every pattern i ever see and she doesn’t even read patterns she just knows everything by heart. so there comes a time when you look at something and knit it. but for me i don’t think i can do that. i am use to read a pattern and knit.
