The $ 529 Dell Inspiron i1545-4266IBU is available in a rainbow of colors, but whatever color you choose, the polite masks to design a set of features inferior. We love the fit and feel This budget laptop – comfortable keyboard, spacious screen, yet light enough to travel daily – but competing models offer better features for the same price. Also absent on the Dell and found in abundance on the Asus, however, is bloatware.

The i1545 is about the cheapest Inspiron laptop dual-core that you will encounter, and although it delivers good performance for the price, laptops with Latest Intel Core i3 are tempting because they can be had for less than $ 100 more. The NV7915u Gateway, for example, features of the Core chip i3 330 and costs only $ 599.

The Inspiron i1545 is available in one of six colors, we examined the Ice Blue model. The lid has a blue lining and a small shiny Dell logo in the center. Inside, the rear screen and the keyboard tray is a black piano and a keyboard touchpad and a matte finish. You will not find any media control buttons, you'll need to use the function keys to play, pause, fast forward, rewind, and adjust the volume instead. The row of function keys are actually run like a bunch of keys to control media, because they are mapped so that you do not need to press the Fn key to skip a track, lower the brightness of the screen, or cut volume, for example. Only a power button is above the keyboard, giving a very clean and simple to a laptop.

Agree with the clean design, the laptop ships with a blank hard disk without the bloatware found on mainstream laptops other models of individual budget. The keyboard is very comfortable. The keys feel spacious and offers good travel. The Inspiron i1545 weighs 5.7 pounds, the average for a 15.6-inch laptop. This laptop larger than we recommend for commuting. This is great size for domestic use, with 13.3 and 14.1-inch notebooks you can save a pound or more weight travel. The screen Inspiron i1545 has a typical resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels native to size. Movies look great on the widescreen display, the colors are vivid and the coating bright screen helps smooth the edges. The screen is also a good size for productivity, providing room for decent work with several windows open. The K60I Asus, however, has a backlit LED screen, which is more energy efficient than traditional LCD lit by fluorescent tubes. As you'll see below, the K60I Asus offers better battery life despite the use of a battery slightly low capacity.

The Dell Inspiron i1545 only has a middle pair of laptop stereo speakers. They reach a level Decent max volume, but the sound is metallic predictable. They are sufficient for the YouTube video and DVD, but a helmet is the best option for playing music.

The Inspiron i1545 provides a means of recovery ports and connections. You'll find three USB 2.0 ports, a VGA port, an Ethernet jack, ExpressCard/34 slot, a multiformat media card reader and microphone and headphone jacks. Absent HDMI and eSATA. We would have liked to have seen HDMI, which can be found on laptops only slightly more expensive NV7915u such as Gateway and HP Pavilion dv4-2145dx. Finally, while nearly all other phones at this price point features Wireless-N Wi-Fi, Inspiron i1545 provides only 802.11b / g.

The laptop has an Intel Pentium T4400, dual-core chip running at 2.2GHz.
