Maternity Clothes can be quite expensive and can cause a huge dent in your finances. The reason for this is that clothes require a lot of extra material because of your ever extending waist line. But, if you really look around, you can buy maternity clothes that may not be that expensive at all and are still quite fashionable.

Being pregnant is a very important phase in your life and you want to be able to always cherish the times and retain the taste for clothes that you have always had. The present economic crisis can be a time of uncertainty, but if you are shopping for clothes to fit you during your maternity, you need to keep all things in perspective.

It is of course your own financial situation that will really determine whether you can afford maternity clothes that are stylish and expensive, but you need to examine whether you really need to buy these expensive stuff. If you save that money now, you can go and splurge once the baby is born and buy the little one a lot of clothes from the boutiques you want.

Just peep into your husband?s closet and check if he has jeans and shirts that you can borrow for a few months. His dress shirts should be more enough to cover your growing belly and the length will fill easily cover your body to the extent required. This is of course assuming that your husband is bigger built than you are.
Friends and relatives are another source for maternity clothes.

The limited use of such clothes will certainly be in the closets of those of your friends and family who have babies recently. Be prepared to accept the choice that they had, and if you are not too finicky you could save yourself some money. You can consider modifying them with accessories or buttons; try to give it your own personal touch.

You can also opt for clothes that are required for women who have a larger build then you. We are talking about the Plus size. These clothes can be quite fashionable though the pants may seem a little baggy, on your slighter frame. The shirts could easily help you to disguise your waistline

Also, look for stretch pants and shirts that are baggy and other dresses that do not emphasize a waistline. After all you need to change your fashion only for a short time or at least until such time as when maternity clothes are the only ones that will suits you.

Because of the short time that maternity clothes are required, they will never get worn out. Thus, you may find some bargains in thrift shops and consignment shops and come up with some interesting buys.

Consignment shops for children have also a stock of maternity clothes occasionally and you can peep in there. Also, as said before, plus size sections in the department store and the men?s section can be worth a look. A sale may get you those clothes for a really cheap price.
If you are working and need to look smart in the office, a male sports jacket may camouflage your pregnancy to some extent and also make you look smart. Think of more ideas when you browse around the stores. Who knows you may come up with an idea that is a trend setter.
Do a bit of planning and let your imagination takes place. You may come up with maternity clothes that will more than do the job and at a cost that you can afford.
